Since getting your iPad or Android tablet have you wondered if there was a way to use it for home automation?  As it turns out, and thanks to a very valued reader, I learned that you can use your iPad to do this very thing. And it’s remarkable.

It nearly sounds like something out of the future but these days technology is moving far faster than we ever dreamed of and quite frankly, it’s a great time to be alive and seeing it all take place.  One of the things I have wondered about since the iPad was announced was home automation.

I wondered if it would ever be possible to shut off your lights or lower your heat just using the tablet.  Now, the iPad or an Android tablet cannot do this alone as there really would be no way (yet) but there are some amazing systems you can actually begin to employ and the iPad will work right a long with them.  And it’s pretty remarkable.

iPhone users who opt to upgrade to the newly announced 4S model will see plenty of improvements, not the least of which is Siri, Apple's new voice-controlled personal assistant system. The phone also packs a better processor, new wireless capabilities and an improved camera. However, all this may not be enough for some users to want to take the leap.
Buyers of Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) new iPhone 4S will be able to do more with the latest version of the smartphone, and they'll be able to do it faster.

The new iPhone, which will be available in black or white models when it ships on Oct. 14, has a new, peppy A5 dual core-processor that provides twice the performance of its predecessor in the iPhone 4 and seven times the graphics muscle.

While a 2x bump in performance is nothing to ignore, it may not be big enough for many users to notice. The 7x increase in graphics, though, is an improvement that should be apparent to all users, but especially those who favor apps that push the phone's graphics chops.

Apple co-founder, Chairman Steve Jobs dies

Apple co-founder and Chairman Steve Jobs died today, Apple said. He was 56.
He leaves a tremendous change in the technology world.
he will always be remembered for lovers of technology, especially Apple's gadgets.

"Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives," Apple said in a statement. "The world is immeasurably better because of Steve."

Jobs had been suffering from various health issues following the seventh anniversary of his surgery for a rare form of pancreatic cancer in August 2004. Apple announced in January that he would be taking an indeterminate medical leave of absence, with Jobs then stepping down from his role as CEO in lateAugust.

Jobs had undergone a liver transplant in April 2009 during an earlier planned six-month leave of absence. He returned to work for a year and a half before his health forced him to take more time off. He told his employees in August, "I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come."
